Authorities at Nandankanan zoo in the coastal state of Orissa, India, have admitted that administering the wrong drug indirectly killed 11 Royal Bengal tigers within the space of 48 hours last week. On 23 June, one tiger had contracted trypanosomiasis, a protozoan disease carried by mosquitoes and flies that disables the central nervous system. As a precaution, the zoo gave all the tigers what they thought was a drug targeting trypanosomiasis,
